Roseville, just 15 minutes east of Sacramento, also offers The Magic Circle Theatre (musical, mystery, drama, and kid’s shows). Open-air concerts featuring top-name entertainers are offered at Sacramento’s Sleep Train Amphitheatre. Arco Arena offers top-quality entertainment from Sacramento Kings home basketball games to major entertainers and Disney on Ice.

Sacramento offers a look into California’s history. Visit the restored Civil War-era State Capitol building and Old Sacramento, which runs along the riverfront on the west side of downtown Sacramento. Old Sacramento has a variety of restaurants, shops, horse-and-carriage rides, and special events scheduled throughout the year. Old Sacramento is home to the California State Railroad Museum. On weekends in April-September, take a ride on a steam locomotive.
